My car is making a ticking noise. I have changed the oil with a better brand and the technician explained it could be the arm rocker that goes bad with that specific engine.

My Challenger is making a wierd ticking noise coming from the left side of the engine. See recall below Chrysler announced this morning that it will be extending the warranty on 3. 6-liter pentastar v-6 engines in certain 2011-2013 vehicles due to cracked cylinder heads on early versions of the engine according to automotive news, roughly 7500 engines built as the pentastar v-6 was first coming out in 2012, were found to be susceptible to left-cylinder head cracks, potentially resulting in engine failure. Chrysler first discovered the issue when customers began complaining that their vehicles were making ticking noises, stalling, or that the instrument panel was inexplicably displaying a check engine light. The 3. 6-liter pentastar v-6 comes with a 5-year/100,000 mile warranty, which Chrysler will be extending to 10-years/150,000 miles on the left-cylinder head. The cracked left-cylinder head issue potentially affects about 0. 5-percent of vehicles equipped with the 3. 6-liter v-6. Chrysler determined that subpar fuel along with a number of driving conditions contributed to the issue. A design modification in late 2012 has reportedly fixed the issue in newer vehicles. The 3. 6-liter v-6, the first of the pentastar family that now includes a 3. 2-liter version, comes standard in numerous Chrysler vehicles. The 3. 6-liter pentastar is standard on the: Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Dodge charger, Jeep grand cherokee, Jeep wrangler, ram 1500, and ram promaster. It's optional on both the previous-generation and current Chrysler 200, and Dodge avenger.

3 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2013 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 11/06/2018

I recently purchased my 2013 Dodge Challenger less than 2 years ago and now the car has been misfiring giving me various error codes while I am driving on the freeway and on the roads. The dealership that I purchased the vehicle from, Acura of fremont, has not returned my calls. The vehicle has given me the p0132 and recently p0300 error code. I took it to my local Chrysler and Dodge dealership in san leandro, CA and they said they can't find an issue wrong with the vehicle even though they saw the p0300 error code and the car shaking immensely. I told the representative that I do not feel safe in the vehicle after I felt the strong shaking and the engine light blinking making dinging sounds and ticking sounds. They kept the vehicle overnight to try again in the morning and they said they found no issue on the vehicle. The next day, the car starts jerking on the freeway slipping in power causing the car to shake. After researching, there is a problem in this specific year and model that I have, a cylinder head misfire that they are not addressing.

4 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2014 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 07/09/2018

Abs and traction control light came on after starting the car. A few days later, the lights are still on but is making a loud clicking sound when making tight right turns. Day after the clicking, the check engine light came on while driving 45 mph. The car was still on but with no acceleration. Pressing on the gas peddle would rev the engine with no progress. I stopped the car, turned it off and checked my fluids under the hood. All looked fine. After restarting the car, it would run then lose acceleration again. Car then became unresponsive and towed to the dealer. The dealer has had the car for 2 days and still don't know what is wrong. Service adviser said the car is not "communicating. " I am currently paying for a rental out of pocket. Fca said there are no recalls based on my VIN. Based on my research, it sounds like the p60/alternator recall.

6 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2014 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 04/08/2014

Brand new car delivered had a ticking sound only while driving at aprox 1800 rpm's and above. . Complained to dealer and was told "normal" for new car until engine break-in. Weeks later star case s1309000013 performed on car to remove tabs left on lifters at engine assembly. Tabs removed, no relief from ticking. Chrysler rep authorized dealer to change regular oil to srt penzoil 0w40 full synthetic with cost being billed to Chrysler for next 5 years. Ticking is still heard inside vehicle while driving. Dealer refuses to service car for "ticking" engine. I was told Dodge would not pay for their time to check the car. I took car out of state to another dealer who was not able to repair ticking per Dodge. This is not the hemi tick. Some customers are getting their cars repaired, others are being brushed off as "normal". Some have had engines replaced and another has had his vehicle replaced. If this is "normal" why aren't all 5. 7 engines doing this? they're not! it is extremely annoying to listen to the tickatickaticka constantly while driving. It is embarassing to have passenger's hear the ticking. I have gathered about 60 other hemi 5. 7 owners together all with the same problem. Why won't Chrysler/Dodge fix our cars? an email from Chrysler stated " "to review of our records indicates that the condition in question is a function of your vehicle's design and is not a defect in materials, workmanship, manufacturing, or factory preparation. These are the only types of defects covered under the new vehicle limited warranties. " what they are telling me is that they knew this problem existed and it's a function of my vehicle's design? there is nothing in any documents I have that state this car will tick as it does. I would not have purchased this vehicle if ticking was part of the car's design. Fix it Chrysler!!!!!.

7 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2014 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 01/20/2014

My 2014 Challenger r/t has had a bad ticking valve train since about new. The ticking, clipping, sewing machine noise is on the passenger side,it's loud and clearly heard in the cab at around 1500rpm and up. Star case tab removal was performed, no good. Next lifters and mds solenoids was replaced still no good. Now along with the ticking noise I have loud spark knock in mds mode on passenger side. Have burnt oil smell after attempted repairs. Dealer and Dodge rep says all is normal. Why was all these repairs attempted to fix my engine now all of a sudden it's all normal? what's normal about loud ticking valve train that can be heard in the cab, loud spark knock and burning oil smell? it's not, they want me to go away! well I'm not! I qualify for lemon law but just want my car repaired. Isn't that what a warranty is for? come on Dodge step up and repair my engine! give me what I payed for! don't treat your customers like dirt!.
